UC1 & SSL 360 Plug-in Mixer New Features

• Bus Compressor limit of 8 Bus Compressors removed - control up to 192 instances of Bus Compressor 2 / 3rd party plug-ins via 360 Link Bus Compressor.
• UC1 shows the name of the hosted 3rd party plug-in in the top area of UC1 screen when scrolling with the CHANNEL encoder – helps identify different plug-ins on the same DAW track.
• UC1 – parameter labels for 3rd party plug-in parameters shown in the top area of the screen in the EXTENDED functions menu when scrolling.

UF8 and UF1 New Features

• Using the MIDI CC Layer with Cubase/Nuendo - timestamps now sent with MIDI CC data, meaning that you can write MIDI CC directly to MIDI parts without needing to record it to the automation lane.
• Pro Tools automation commands now available in DAW commands list

SSL 360 New Features

• SSL 12, UF1 and UF8 now only show on left-hand toolbar menu when connected to the computer

    • Control third-party plug-ins from UF8 and UF1 set to the 360 Plug-in Mixer, your own SSL virtual console environment – a place to view and control all 360-enabled channel strips and 360° Link plug-ins.

Known Issues

• UC1/Plug-in Mixer - SSL 360 Link in LUNA - Make sure you are using LUNA v1.5.4 or above because it supports the VST3 version of Link. LUNA v1.5.3 and below only support the AU format of Link, which will not benefit from the enhanced DAW integration.

Known Issues

• SSL 360° occasionally losing connection and crashing - ‘something went wrong’ appears. To fix restart computer or open up Activity Monitor and kill the ‘SSL360Core’ process. Then re-launch SSL 360° application. Preventing sleep when the display is off on your computer may help reduce experiencing this issue.
• SSL 360° - UF8 and UF1 - Windows modifier key no longer recorded when setting up keyboard macro.
• LUNA VST3 Plug-in Mixer DAW control – Grouped tracks and automation - when adjusting faders, pans, sends, solos and mutes from 360°/UF8/UF1/UC1, links do not work – only 1 track moves at a time. Automation is also not able to be written. To work around, use MCU layer of UF1/UF8.
• Studio One Plug-in Mixer/UC1 - When 360°-enabled channel strip or Bus Compressor 2 is inserted on an FX channel in Studio One it shows up twice in the 360° Plug-in Mixer. This only happens if there is an instrument track record armed that has a send going to that FX Channel and also with the dropout protection set to medium or higher.
• Ableton Live – the presence of 4K B and Channel Strip 2 stops pan automation from working in Live. To work around, automate the channel strip plug-in's pan.
• Mixbus – UF8 and UF1 – V-Pot readout bar does not update when moving to Pan mode (coming from another V-Pot mode like Sends). Mixbus are aware of the issue.

Known Issues in SSL 360° v1.5.16?

• UC1/360° Plug-in Mixer with Pro Tools - Solo/Mute only solos or mutes the left-hand side of the 4K B or Channel Strip 2 plug-in when using multi-mono instances. The work around is to replace multi-mono instances with true multichannel instances (stereo instances).
• Logic Pro shows as ‘DAW Host’ in the 360° Plug-in Mixer on some systems
• UF1 - Pro Tools Plug-in Control Mode – Value readouts on large display become stuck when pressing the V-Pot of the channel currently being controlled (even though the plug-in parameters continue to be controlled). To resolve, select another insert before returning to the desired one.
• UF1 – Removing an instance of SSL Meter plug-in causes UF1 to show ‘No Meter Plug-in Found’. To resolve, either open a different instance of Meter plug-in in the DAW or select a different instance of Meter in SSL 360°
• UC1/360° Plug-in Mixer with LUNA - Moving Channel Strip 2 or 4K B plug-in to a different insert slot when that track is selected in the Plug-in Mixer/on UC1 causes the Plug-in Mixer track ordering to get messed up. To fix, you must remove the offending plug-in. To avoid, make sure if you are re-ordering tracks in LUNA, the one you are dragging to a new position isn’t the selected instance in the Plug-in Mixer/on UC1.
• UC1/360° Plug-in Mixer with LUNA - Plug-in Mixer ordering goes in reverse order when bulk inserting Channel Strip 2 (AU) Plug-ins in LUNA.
• UF1 small screen graphics - occasionally a small number of randomly coloured pixels can appear. To resolve, switch to a different DAW Layer and then come back. This issue will be resolved in a future firmware update.

What’s Fixed?

• Logic - Channel name displays random extra characters in track name display of 4K B, Channel Strip 2, Plug-in Mixer and on UC1 on Ventura, also causing ordering issues.
• Cubase/Nuendo/Studio One/REAPER - 4K B Plug-in - When copy-dragging the 4K B plug-in to another channel’s insert slot, the track number is duplicated, instead of changing to the correct track number.

Known Issues

• Bus Compressor 2 DAW track name displays lots of random characters in the Plug-in/Plug-in Mixer and on UC1.
• Sleep mode does not always engage on UF8 when USB connection removed.

To fix, you must remove the offending plug-in. To workaround, open individual automation lanes in Live for any parameter you want to draw in automation for and leave the main lane alone (because it will always switch itself back to ‘CUT’).
• SSL 360° processes on Mac might appear to show high CPU usage in Activity Monitor, even though performance is seemingly unaffected.

• Studio One Undo History issues with Channel Strip 2 and 4K B (SSL 360°). Some issues have been discovered that may cause inconsistent undo history behaviour due to the integration of Solo and Mute with Studio One. A fix is being investigated.

• SSL 360° Uninstaller lets SSL 360° uninstall while Cubase 12 or Nuendo 11 DAWs are open.

Known Issues in SSL 360° v1.3

• Plug-in Mixer Transport Display Bars/Beats & SMPTE readout for Studio One has no separation between digits. 
• Plug-in Mixer ordering goes in reverse when bulk inserting Channel Strip 2 (AU) Plug-ins in LUNA. 

• UC1/Plug-in Mixer/Channel Strip 2/Bus Compressor 2 Track Names are not receiving extended ASCII characters from Pro Tools track names. 
• When 2 (or more) UF8s are connected to Cubase, using the Channel Type Visibility modes for Channel Types across faders causes Cubase to crash. 
• Calling maximised and F11’d SSL 360 to screen puts it in “quasi” maximised state. 
• SSL 360° Uninstaller lets SSL 360° uninstall while Cubase 12 or Nuendo 11 DAWs are open. 
• SMPTE light doesn’t come on in the Plug-in Mixer Transport Bar with Studio One or LUNA.

General Improvements

•  SSL 360° Full Screen in Windows – F11 keyboard shortcut, allows full height of Plug-in Mixer to fit on 1080p screens. 
• SSL 360° Zoomed Out View Tooltips – you now get a value readout when moving a control. 
• SSL 360° Zoomed Out View – Output fader dB readout temporarily over-rides track name when fader is being moved. 
• UC1 (MacOS) - 360° button now hides SSL 360° instead of minimising, so that the focus is changed back to the last application (normally the DAW). 
• UC1 - Bus Compressor Make-up Gain LEDs all dim at default position.
• UC1 - LPF and HPF LEDs dim at minimum position. 

 360° General Fixes 

• FIXED - Windows key functions are blocked while SSL 360° is focused.
