If you experiencing audio drop outs on your Mac (2018 and above), you may find that you have T2 security chip. Users with these models may need to plug directly to the Mac via Thunderbolt 3 (USB C) , Thunderbolt 3 adapter to USB-A. This creates a new USB 2.0 bus in the system and stops the dropouts. The SSL 2/2+ has a USB-C connector but is a USB 2.0 device.
