How much latency is introduced by the Alpha Link units?

An AES/EBU input routed to and AES/EBU output creates 2 samples of delay.

Routing through a mixpander causes 10 samples of delay, so:

An AES/EBU input routed through a mixpander and back to the Alpha link unit routed out of a AES/EBU output = 2 samples of delay for the AES/EBU + 10 samples for the mixpander = 12 samples of delay.

The audio application will add latency delay depending on the buffer size setup in the application. This is usually set to 64, 128 or 256 samples. The delay will be 2 X this setting (in and out buffering) + 12 samples + 64 samples (due to buffering of the driver), The minimum delay of this PC stage is 204 samples, so:

An AES/EBU input routed through a mixpander then through an audio application (such as Nuendo) with a buffer size of 64, back through the mixpander to an AES/EBU output = 2 +10 + 204 = 216 samples.
