When synced to the ADAT clock signal, the Alpha-Link AX or MADI-AX switches to 88.2kHz instead of 44.1kHz (or 96kHz instead of 48kHz).
This may happen depending on the ADAT device that supplies the clock, and also depending on the current "ADAT Channel Status" setting (option 5 of Option Switch 1, setting indicated by LED5) and "ADAT 96kHz" (SMUX2 or non-SMUX2) setting (option 3 of Option Switch 1, setting indicated by LED3).
1) If "ADAT Channel Status" is set to IGNORE (LED5 = ON)
-> "SMUX" is OFF (LED3 = OFF) => the Sample Rate on the Alpha-Link will be 44.1 (or 48) Khz
-> "SMUX" is ON (LED3 = ON ) => the Sample Rate on the Alpha-Link will be 88.2 (or 96) Khz
2) If "ADAT Channel Status" is set to USE (LED5 = OFF)
The "SMUX2" setting is ignored and the Sample rate is set according the ADAT Channel Status bits in the Audio stream, delivered by the connected ADAT device.
Please see the Alpha-Link manual about how to use option switches. At the time of writing, this particular option is left blank in the manual but it can be set just like the others.
