The SSL Download Manager application allows you to easily manage all your SSL plug-in installations and updates from one place, on both macOS and Windows. You can also use it to easily download and demo a plug-in.
In addition to easily installing, uninstalling or reinstalling individual or every SSL plug-in at the click of a button, the SSL Download Manager also provides you with detailed release notes and lets you know when updates are available.
What formats are supported?
The SSL Download Manager automatically installs all plug-in formats, including VST, VST3, AU and AAX (Pro Tools).
Installing plug-ins
To download and install a plug-in, simply click the 'Install' button, or click the 'Install All' button to download and install every SSL plug-in at once.
The application will indicate download and installation progress for each product.
Updating plug-ins
If plug-in updates are available, these are indicated on the 'Updates' tab.
Go to this page to see all available updates. To update a plug-in, simply click its 'Update' button or click 'Update All' to automatically download and install any available updates at once.
Removing or reinstalling a plug-in
To remove a plug-in, click the '...' icon on a product for more options, and then click 'Uninstall'. You can also click the '...' in the top right-hand corner and click 'Uninstall All' to uninstall every SSL plug-in at once.
You can also 'Reinstall' a plug-in, or 'Reinstall All'. This can be useful when trying to fix an issue with your installation.
Release notes
To view the release notes for a plug-in, click the ℹ️ icon.
Release notes give detailed information about features and bugfixes, and the version history.
Refreshing
To refresh the content of the application, click the 'Refresh' icon in the top right-hand corner.
Reporting an issue
When reporting an issue with the SSL Download Manager to our support team, please go to the 'Support' page and use 'Retrieve Logs' and attach these logs to your support ticket.
This will help our support team identify the issue.
Clearing the installer cache
Go to the 'Preferences' tab and click 'Clear Installer Cache' to remove any temporary downloads. This is useful if you are running out of disk space.
Downloaded installers are automatically deleted by your operating system after a certain amount of time.
